IFAM: Connecting Retailers and Global Artisans at June Dallas Total Home & Gift Market

Posted by Dallas Market Center on May 16, 2017

Artisan products with unique stories continue to be in high demand and are a great way for retailers to further connect with their customers. This June at Total Home & Gift Market, Dallas Market Center, in partnership with the International Folk Art Alliance, is proud to host the International Folk Art Market (IFAM), offering retailers the opportunity to directly connect with global artisans. Dozens of artisans will stop in Dallas to showcase their handmade items to retailers on their way to the annual International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

IFAM is an excellent opportunity for both the artisans and buyers, providing artisans with the opportunity to connect with buyers and showcase their handmade work in a number of categories such as apparel, accessories, décor, and home accents products. Buyers are then given the opportunity to visit with the artists and learn the cultural traditions and significance behind each of their hand-crafted pieces, which they can then communicate to their customers.

IFAM's mission is to foster economic and cultural sustainability for folk artists worldwide and to create intercultural opportunities that unite the peoples of the world. The wholesale connections made in Dallas provide year-round income for these master folk artists, creating a lasting economic impact in their communities. Artisans also learn about wholesale marketing, order fulfillment, and how to strengthen their income and earning opportunities through export.

Check out a preview of the items that can be found at the International Folk Art Market in the World Trade Center Atrium June 21-25 during June Total Home & Gift Market. Find more information about IFAM by clicking here.
