Design + Build Day Celebrates Collaboration Across the Design Industry

Posted by Dallas Market Center on May 19, 2026

Dallas Market Center invites the design community to kick off June Market with Design + Build Day on Tuesday, June 23—a day of CEU-accredited programming, showroom tours, and networking created specifically for designers looking to strengthen collaboration, grow their business, and explore the latest in lighting and interiors.

June Market design programming begins on Monday, June 22, with the Design Ambassador Vignette Reveal Party. The festive cocktail-style event celebrates the debut of the first two Design Ambassador vignettes by Pulp Design Studios and Coco & Dash Interiors, featuring products sourced from Dallas Market Center exhibitors. Guests will enjoy wine tasting, live music, and hors d’oeuvres while connecting with the design community and celebrating local creative talent.

The next morning, Design + Build Day begins, bringing leading voices from design, architecture, and construction together for conversations focused on crafting stronger project outcomes through early collaboration and communication. Business of Home Editor in Chief Kaitlin Petersen moderates Becoming the Builder’s Designer with celebrated designers Corey Damen Jenkins, Alison Giese, and Erin Sander, offering insight into navigating builder relationships and advocating for design vision throughout the project process.

Additional programming includes Women Who Build Lunch & Learn, featuring Mae Reedy of Mae Reedy Build + Design, Sue Berk of Berk + Walters Homes, and Jen Stevens of Fonde Interiors, moderated by Nikki Watson of The Design Quad. The session explores how thoughtful planning, material selection, and communication shape successful projects. Custom Builder also presents Collaboration Wins & Costly Mistakes, moderated by Pauline Hammerbeck and featuring Mark Keilson of Oldner Lighting, architect Eric M. Johnson of Christopher Strom Architects, and builder Bob Appert of White Oaks Savanna and Redstone Builders.

Throughout the day, attendees can join curated showroom tours led by Kaitlin Petersen of Business of Home and Pauline Hammerbeck of Custom Builder, offering insider access to standout lighting resources, emerging trends, and design-driven product discovery across Lightovation showrooms.

Design + Build Day concludes with a closing reception, meet-and-greet, and book signing with Corey Damen Jenkins at Eichholtz, bringing the design community together to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and connection.
