Bill Winsor, who led the Dallas Market Center for more than two decades and was my mentor and good friend, touched so many lives throughout the apparel, home, gift and lighting industries and now that can continue at the academic level.
“Our goal is to support undergraduate upperclassmen who intend to pursue a profession in retail or wholesale, said DMC president Cindy Morris in announcing the new initiative. “This is a grassroots effort to honor Bill’s unwavering belief in the power of entrepreneurship and commerce.
“With your support this scholarship will be endowed at $100,000 supporting generations of students.”
The program is being overseen by a steering committee that in addition to Morris includes Alison Dodson Anderson of A. Dodson’s, Chuck Fraelich of tag, George Kacic of Margins USA, Troy Lee of Savoy House, Maria Mullen of Hubbardton Forge, Rick Seidman of Quoizel, Roxie Orms of Clint Orms Engravers & Silversmiths and Cole Daugherty of DMC.
