Now illuminating Dallas Market Center in the World Trade Center at Light + Design on Ten, Timothy J Ferrie is where art meets design.
This California-based artisan’s works are called “lightsculptures,” and they each tell a story. In fact, they can tell any tale you would like, because each piece is hand-made, customizable and truly unique. Pendants can become sconces, table lights can become floor lights and so much more. As Ferrie says, “The sky is the limit!”
“We’re very excited to bring our own unique brand of ‘custom’ to Dallas Market Center,” he explains. “We’re looking forward to working with designers from around the country who come to DMC for its reputation of excellence.”
Where does Ferrie find the inspiration for his illuminated creations?
“My inspiration comes from the fact that I believe that lighting can be art,” he says. “I love combining elements of nature and mathematics to create balance. Very often, lighting goes unnoticed. I like the fact that when people walk into a room, they notice our lights and a conversation begins.”
