The first markets of the year had strong attendance, order writing, and a record number of buyers attending for the first time. Attendance at the Total Home & Gift Market was 70%+ of last year and the Apparel & Accessories show was ahead of last year by more than 30%. WESA Market welcomed thousands of buyers for the first time as well as the Dallas Men’s Show. Most importantly, across all January shows more than 25% of buyers were new to Dallas - a significant increase from previous years.
That’s worth promoting far and wide, and DMC received a lot of positive media attention. A few examples include video coverage from HomeWorld Business, Business of Home, Home Accents Today print and video interview, California Apparel News, and Forbes magazine. We had the privilege to welcome many new exhibitors with ribbon cuttings during the Total Home & Gift and Apparel & Accessories/WESA Markets and we awarded great visual displays too.
