Dallas Marketing Updates for Summer 2021

DMC’s Marketing Team has been working hard to motivate and inspire buyers and to support leasing efforts. Below are some of these recent projects you can review and share with your team:

Advertising in trade publications is essential, which is why we work with dozens of trade publications promoting Dallas. See examples here of the campaigns supporting summer shows. Press Releases create a "drumbeat" of news about markets and showrooms. We always have great news to share each market season which results in coverage in major trade publications.

Increasing DMC’s digital footprint. DMC has more than 150,000 followers across a variety of social media and digital platforms. Since January, we have increased viewers/readers substantially as we post content about markets and showrooms. Thanks to all of the exhibitors who have submitted images for consideration.

Reaching buyers directly. Buyers get monthly emails and newsletters from DMC to promote markets, identify trends, and inspire them to visit. Here are a few examples of emails that buyers receive: AETAApparel & Accessories, Children’s, Design, Lightovation, Men’s Show, Total Home & Gift, Western & EnglishDMC’s SPARK magazine and Designers' Guide are produced by our marketing/creative team and mailed to retail stores and designers – 50,000+ customers receive SPARK; 13,000 receive the Designers' Guide. The latest issue of SPARK features more showroom products than ever. The Designers' Guide mailed just before Dallas Design Week in April.

What’s New for June. There are dozens of new, expanding, and relocation showrooms debuting in June. Here are updates to share for Total Home & Gift Market, Lightovation, and Apparel & Accessories. Plus, we will celebrate a new pop-up exhibit of Housewares companies in a newly redesigned neighborhood in the Trade Mart. And, as we are able to enjoy more in-person events, we have an exciting lineup of hospitalities and safe events planned for June: Apparel & Accessories, Total Home & Gift, Lightovation, and KidsWorldDMC's Retail Development team helps bring buyers to Dallas by calling, visiting, and touring stores personally. This attention, plus marketing’s efforts, helped realize the highest attendance in 10 years at the March Markets and an increase in new buyer applications -- up 50% -- over 2019! Buyers from these major retailers will be on campus in June + thousands of specialty stores.
