Javier Burkle, owner and lead designer of Burkle Creative in Dallas, shares a few of his favorite recent pieces from Dallas Market Center.
Burkle is a founding member of Dallas Market Center's new Design Ambassador Program, a year-long appointment for six design firms that will lead panels, build community connections, and style vignettes with pieces sourced entirely from Dallas Market Center.
The program arrives alongside DMC's broader design push, including more than 100 brands moving into new showrooms in the Interior Home + Design Center and a refreshed look for World Trade Center's 5th and 6th floors.
Joining Burkle on the inaugural Design Advisory Board are Beth Dotolo and Carolina V. Gentry of Pulp Design Studio, Courtney and Teddie Garrigan of Coco & Dash, Eddie Maestri of Maestri, Jen Stevens of Fonde Interiors, and Bryan and Mike Yates of Yates Desygn.
Meet Javier Burkle
Originally from Mexico City, Burkle built his design language working alongside Ralph Lauren and other national brands before founding Burkle Creative in 2015. His interiors are known for pairing old and new thanks to collections built over time, patterns stacked with intention, and a sense of subtle luxury.
Burkle Creative's residential and commercial work spans the United States and Mexico, including the Dallas and Aspen showrooms for fashion boot brand Miron Crosby and Douglas, a recently opened Dallas restaurant. Javier was a featured designer at the 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas, was named a "Best Designer" by D Home magazine, and appeared on People Newspaper's "20 Under 40" list. His work has also been featured in House Beautiful, Elle Decor, HGTV Magazine, Paper City, and Veranda.com, and his firm supports such community organizations as Dwell with Dignity.
In His Words
"I kept coming back to items that felt discovered instead of designed. They come together to create the kind of space filled with pieces collected slowly: a leather trunk that looks better with age, a sculptural chair that feels pulled from a boutique hotel lobby, and lighting that casts a warm glow at the end of the day. The palette leans neutral, but the mood is anything but boring. It's layered, moody, and worldly, showing that restraint can still feel deeply interesting when texture and material are considered thoughtfully."
