Dallas Design Week 2023: Recap

Dallas Design Week 2023 was an exceptional and memorable event that left a lasting impact on over 1,000 interior designers who came through the doors of Dallas Market Center from September 19th – 21st. From informative panels featuring well-known designers, to our highly anticipated Dine + Design luncheon featuring Sherwin-Williams' Colormix 2024, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy!

The annual ArchLIGHT Summit, which happened alongside Dallas Design Week in the Trade Mart, featured dozens of educational and inspirational sessions that were open to interior designers. This collaborative experience also gave designers the chance to learn from industry experts on the latest lighting trends and technologies.

Day one brought excitement!

  • Vacation Rental Design: A New Source of Income & Inspiration
    The founders of Vacation Rental Designers, Jessica Duce of JDuce Design and Jane Dagmi of HPxD spoke with interior designers Jonathan Miller of Jsquared Interior Staging & Design, Nikki Watson of The Design Quad, and Traci Connell of Traci Connell Interiors about how they used skills to break into the vacation rental design industry.

  • Dine + Design Presents Colormix 2024 with Sherwin-Williams
    Over 600 designers attended this sold-out luncheon that presented the Sherwin-Williams’ 2024 color of the year, Upward, and showed their new approach to the Colormix forecast. Anthology: Volume One, a color trend report that explores 48 hues organized by color family, will be used to predict future color trends.

  • Dine + Design Afterparty & Giveaways
    Hudson Valley Lighting hosted this epic afterparty in their beautiful showroom. Guests enjoyed music and giveaways from showrooms located throughout DMC.

  • Bubbles & Bouquets
    Designers got creative and their own bouquets while sipping on champagne, provided by Raz and Melrose, before being inspired to shop the rest of WTC!

  • Streamlining Designer Window Coverings with Customizations, Layering and Automation
    In-Detail, Misti Thomas, and Alta Window Fashions gave an in-depth review of the newest automations and streamlining your timeline for custom window treatments.

    Day two had even more to enjoy!

  •  Streamlining Your Purchasing Process: Panel Discussion
    Guest gathered in Feizy Rugs to learn processes, tips, and tricks from industry experts Michelle Lynne of ML Interiors Groups, Christie Schlosser of Schlosser Design Group, and Lindsay Leggett of Dahlgreen Duck, on streamlining your purchasing process by budgeting and optimizing your relationships with vendors.

  • Invitation-Worthy Interior: Crafting Spaces For Effortless Entertaining
    Visual Comfort hosted Interior designer Jan Showers teamed up with client/hostess extraordinaire, Kim Whitman, to teach the art of crafting the perfect interior to make guests feel welcome inside your home.

  • Bubbles & Bouquets
    Designers got creative and their own bouquets while sipping on champagne, provided by Raz and Melrose, before being inspired to shop the rest of WTC!

  • Elevate Your Design Business With Simple (But Often Overlooked) Steps
    Two industry leaders, Lifestyle influencer Charmaine Wynter and financial expert Derrick Kinney, came together inside the Feizy Rugs Showroom to give advice that will guide them to build their design business for profitability.

  • Tacos and Tequila
    The day closed at Unique Loom with a tequila-tasting event hosted by celebrity designer and television host, Jennifer Farrell Guests sipped cocktails and enjoyed live music while talking about style tips and tricks.

  • Book Signing with Designer John Phifer Marris
    The Palecek showroom welcomed acclaimed interior designer and author of “Interiors for Collectors,” for a book signing.

  • How to Snag the Cover Page
    Designers learned tricks of the trade to get featured in, or even on the cover of, their favorite design magazine from top Jessica Otte of D Home, Eddie Maestri of Maestri Studio, and Bryan Yates of Yates Design in this session moderated by Dann Foley of Dann Foley Lifestyle and sponsored by D Home.

  • Evolve & Grow Your Design Empire
    Industry leaders Megan Molten and Caitlin Wilson taught ways to diversify an interior design business to create a multi-faceted powerhouse business in this event sponsored by Luxe Interior + Design.

  • Dallas Design Week Closing Happy Hour in The Gallery
    Design week closed out with designers networking and exploring the designs featured in The Gallery. They also had a chance to meet with Caitlin Wilson, who was signing copies of her new book, Return to Pretty.

Dallas Design Week is a time for our vibrant designer community to come together to share and one another, but more importantly, it’s a time for all those who walk through the doors of Dallas Market Center to feel energized and find inspiration for their designs!
