One of the industry’s most prestigious award competitions has a new name and a new mission. Lighting & Homes for Tomorrow – previously known as Lighting for Tomorrow – will focus exclusively this year on connected home products and systems. Submissions are now being accepted.

The annual Lighting for Tomorrow competition was created in 2002 to recognize the best decorative, energy-efficient lighting fixtures in the market. Since its inception, it has encouraged manufacturers to develop well-designed, energy-efficient lighting products with a specific goal of increasing the availability and market adoption of ENERGY STAR®-certified residential lighting products.

This year’s competition seeks connected lighting and lighting controls, connected HVAC and thermostats, connected windows and window attachments, connected plug load controls, and other connected home devices in five categories.

LZF winners2017According to the American Lighting Assn., which helps to organize and judge the competition along with CEE and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), “The Lighting & Homes for Tomorrow competition provides manufacturers the opportunity to push the industry forward by introducing high-quality and innovative designs, contribute to the greater energy-efficiency movement, and gain exposure for their brands and products among industry leaders and consumers alike.”

Honored products are promoted by Lighting & Homes for Tomorrow for a full calendar year.

More information on this year’s competition, including how to submit an entry, is available at info@lightingfortomorrow.com.
